Living
legend Edward de Bono invented the term “lateral thinking” and
is one of the world's most influential thinkers.
His 65 books, including the ground-breaking Six Thinking
Hats, have been translated into 39 languages. De Bono is
regarded by many as the leading authority in the field
of creative thinking, innovation and teaching thinking as
a
skill. He has taught his techniques to groups ranging from
Down syndrome children to Nobel laureates and his methods
are mandatory on the school curriculum in many
countries. De Bono will speak about how creating value through
ideas is becoming the key ingredient in business and all
other facets of life. |

 Britain's Charles Landry has advised
dozens of governments around the world on using culture to revitalise
cities and regions. He is regarded as an international authority
on the future of cities and the creative use of culture in urban
revitalisation.
Charles has agreed to participate in four days of ICAN events
to help citizens, planners, government decision-makers, business
people and community groups unlock Canberra's unlimited potential.

Canberra
is clinically planned, needs an injection
of craziness and has too much emphasis on
large roads and cars.
Town and gown should be linked in the Civic area and Canberra’s
undoubted creative, scientific and technological need to be more
visible.
The unifying theme for a creative Canberra could be green urbanism.
These are some of the recommendations for Canberra; stay tuned for
his final report or pursue media clippings of his ICAN visit to Canberra
in May.
